Big Air

In the air, it’s not about luck – it’s about precision. Big Air isn’t a coincidence – it’s a choice. Every take-off, every landing, every session is a reflection of your mindset. The SONIC⁵ isn’t just a kite – it’s your will, your discipline, your determination made real. It all starts in your head. Built for riders who don’t ask if, but how far they can go. More jumps. More airtime. More control.

Technical Features:

Cord Cut Billow

The CCB Cut is an advanced design feature aimed at optimizing airflow along the leading edge of our Foil Kites. Through strategically placed, precise “billows” – targeted cuts along the chord line – the profile is modified to ensure smoother and more stable airflow. This reduces turbulence, compensates for surface irregularities, and minimizes drag. It optimizes sail curvature for maximum profile fidelity and enhances aerodynamic efficiency. The result: higher stability, better power delivery, and more precise control under high loads.

Aero-Balance Construction

The Aero-Balance construction combines a high aspect ratio with a finely tuned cell architecture, ensuring maximum performance while maintaining intuitive control. The profile fills quickly and evenly across the entire span – particularly important for launches in strong winds or challenging conditions. Increased user-friendliness, faster response to steering inputs, simplified handling during jumps and loops.

Air intake line

Lines have been stretched spanwise across all air inlets to ensure optimal airflow to the leading edge. The air inlet lines hold the rigid foils on the nose in position and prevent the inlets from deforming. The kite fills quickly with air. You get control over the entire wingspan sooner when launching the Foil Kite. The kite also flies further to the edge of the wind window when overpowered; the leading edge dents later, and the depower works more efficiently.

FlowArc Wingtip

The FlowArc Wingtip optimizes airflow over the wing tips and improves flight behavior in loops and during recovery. Through its curved shape and targeted profiling, it generates additional lift, delays flow separation, and enables particularly smooth and precise control. Every loop becomes more controlled, intuitive, and safer. Whether landing or downlooping – the FlowArc Wingtip supports the SONIC characteristics: powerful yet predictable.

Performance Features:

Improved Heliloop performance

The redesigned wingtips create smoother, rounder loops that catch you gently and slow your descent. Perfect for controlled landings and safe progression during high-risk Heliloop maneuvers.

More jumps per session

Efficient upwind performance, low drag, and responsive handling help you return to your take-off point faster. That means more airtime, more attempts, and faster trick progression in every session.

Easier landings

Refined steering geometry improves how the kite catches you after tricks. It softens impacts, enhances stability, and gives you confidence to land cleanly – even after technical rotations or loops.

Extended hangtime

The SONIC⁵’s high-lift profile delivers maximum hangtime. Stay in the air longer, gain valuable seconds for your tricks, and enjoy softer, more controlled landings with every jump.

Range of usage:

Twintip Big Air

The SONIC⁵ 12 m is the ultimate Big Air kite for twintip riders. Powerful yet responsive, easy to handle but built for serious height. Perfect for Heliloops, clean landings, and high-frequency training. It combines intuitive control with a sport-focused design to take your riding to the next level.

Hydrofoil Big Air

Designed for foilers who want to go big. The SONIC⁵ blends high aspect ratio, rapid inflation, and aerodynamic stability to unlock Big Air performance on a foil. Ideal for skilled riders pushing their limits with confidence, precision, and smooth landings – even in gusty conditions.

Experienced Foil Enthusiasts

The SONIC⁵ lineup is also perfectly tailored for skilled Foil Kite riders. It delivers maximum efficiency, responsive handling, and sport-focused performance. Whether you are going big on a foil or cruising long distances, the SONIC⁵ offers a unique blend of power and control.
