Dielectric Battery Grease should be used on all connections (Battery and Motor Plug) before every use to ensure a reliable connection between unit and motor cable, protecting against corrosion, heat, and oxidation.

What is dielectric grease and why is it used?

Dielectric grease is a special grease that is designed to lubricate electrical connections to prevent corrosion and improve connection. The continued use of this grease is imperative to keep your unit protected for the long run.

Where do I use the grease?

a. The battery connection plug

b. Removable motor plug

How often do I apply it?

Battery:

Every single time you are entering the ocean!

If you are foiling in fresh water, you can extend this out to every second use. After you have applied the grease generously to your battery several times, you can reduce the amount applied as the grease will accumulate on the plug. Always ensure the terminals are covered in grease on the battery, doing this will ensure a good amount is transferred to the plug inside the housing, protecting your unit!

O-Ring + Motor Plug:

The O-ring has come greased from factory. Remove your O-ring if you can see sand built up, or if you're finding your nose cone is more difficult to latch closed.

If you leave the motor connected to the plug, apply grease and leave secured. You do not need to apply every use. Build-up of grease here can cause the pins to compress and affect the connection of the motor. =

How do I apply it?

A. On the front of the battery, apply a generous amount to the terminal plug.

B. By applying a generous amount on the battery plug and pushing it into the unit, the grease will transfer to the receiving plug inside your unit. Note: Some batteries are more difficult to push in than others, so ensure you have applied firm pressure to insert your battery every time.

C. Apply a thin layer across the pins on the housing before securing the motor plug.

What do I do when I run out?

We have included two tubes of the dielectric grease with your unit at the time of purchase. Before you run out completely, purchase more tubes from our online store
